Mitchell Heinzmann started working at Tesla as a design engineer redesigning castings which resulted in over $3 million in annual savings and also designed a one-piece flow line for the Model 3 doors off procedure. He has solved factory automation issues on crash critical components. Moving from design engineer to manager, Mitchell is now leading the Body Structures Design Team for all vehicle programs. He is currently managing 15 Mechanical Engineering Designers with additional leadership responsibility to 7 Engineers based out of Berlin and China. Mitchell has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University.
